*NEW* Summer 2021 Programs
Our team is hard at work brainstorming to create some awesome programs for 2021.
Normally, registration would already be open. We have delayed that process until January 30, 2021 so we can sort through the many unique factors that will shape our plans. Although everything is subject to change, we are hoping to run:
- Adventure Day Camps in various locations on Vancouver Island for children ages 7 – 12.
- Harbour Family Camp including full food service & a limited program for a max. of 50 people per session.
- Sailing Camps for Families, Young Adults, and Adults. More specific details are coming soon.
- Woodsman Family Camps including continental breakfast, u-pack picnic lunches & a hot supper – No program!
Covid-19 Impact: Who would have imagined how deeply this crisis would upend our lives when we heard the first news reports in January! 36 Spring rentals, our entire summer camping schedule and all of our Fall rentals have been cancelled. By Christmas, our revenue losses will approach $1,000,000.00.
Camp Homewood is in dire straits. Our Board has determined that we need to raise $467,000.00 on TOP of our regular donations.
The Pacific Coast Children's Mission (PCCM) has been serving children, families, and adults since 1944. PCCM owns and operates Camp Homewood, which is located on a 200 acre, oceanfront property on Quadra Island, BC. The island is a short ferry ride from Campbell River on Vancouver Island. Homewood is well known for its summer Family Camps and quality programs for children and youth. The four summer camper programs offered are Harbour, Ranch, Sailing, and Woodsman camps.
From September to June, Homewood welcomes almost 90 rental groups during the week and on weekends. These include schools, quilters, hobby groups, corporate groups, youth groups, and church groups. Please explore our website and plan a stay at Homewood with your group.

This is the classic camp experience. Sleep in tents, canoe, kayak, try archery and riflery, plus enjoy tubing and stand-up paddleboarding at the waterfront.
Ranch Camp is for horse lovers. Sleep in cabins, learn to ride and care for a horse, plus enjoy the waterfront every afternoon.
Explore the BC coast in one of our four 27′ Catalina sailboats. Sleep in tents on shore, learn sailing skills, hike to lakes and waterfalls, and see wildlife up close.
Woodsman is a "back-to-the-basics" camping experience. Enjoy boating and swimming in a warm lake. Try archery, play games, sing, and hike.
Serve on the Work Crew (WC) for July or August. Wash dishes, clean toilets, play at the waterfront, and build lasting friendships. Participation on WC is by application.
The Leader-In-Training (LIT) Program is for 18 high school students who want to serve and gain leadership skills. This program is eight weeks long. Admission is by application.
