Greetings from Camp Homewood!  COVID-19 IMPACT

Disruption is an apt word to describe what is going on in Canada and the world.  Every time I open my email, there seems to be another notice about a disruption to some aspect of life: entertainment, travel, recreation, school, or business.  Announcements declaring a state of emergency have been made at local, provincial, and national levels.  A massive effort is being made to curb the spread of the coronavirus, and I am convinced that this effort will intensify over the next few weeks before things can return to normal.  In light of these events, Camp Homewood has decided to suspend all operations until June 20, 2020.

We are, however, planning to run our full summer 2020 camp schedule! Stay tuned for further updates as we get closer to the summer.

We are closing our doors temporarily because our top priority is safety.  This decision will impact 36 groups and almost 2,000 guests.  We know that Homewood is a favorite destination and many people will be disappointed.  We will miss serving our guests, but we know it is the right thing to do.  We will continue to apply the recommendations of our public health officials and the provincial and federal governments to our camp environment to ensure that we play a positive role in managing the pandemic, and we look forward to reopening when we get the green light.  We are hoping this will happen prior to July so we can welcome your children to camp!

What does this mean?

  • We will continue to take registrations for summer camp
  • Please take advantage of our Early Bird Special:
    • Pay in full by March 30 and get last year’s price!
  • We have revised our Refund Policy for this summer:
    • We do not want you to lose any money as a result of this situation
    • If we are unable to open, we will issue a FULL REFUND to all campers (including the $100 non-refundable registration fee)
    • If we open, but you decide not to send your child to camp, we will issue a FULL REFUND (including the $100 non-refundable registration fee) as long as you email us 10 days before the first day of your camp session to cancel
  • We already have 800 campers registered, and we are on pace for another record season of fabulous camps.  We have changed our refund policy so you can sign up your child without worrying about finances.  There are enough things to worry about – camp shouldn’t be one of them!

Thank you for your understanding.
