You're Invited to WORK 'N GROW! - A One Day Work Bee at Camp Homewood!

Come be part of something meaningful at our 1-day Work & Grow event—a special day filled with community, hard work, and plenty of joy! This is a wonderful opportunity to bring your family and friends and spend time together as we prepare camp for another incredible summer season.

Roll up your sleeves, lend a hand with projects big and small, and know that every effort you make helps create lasting memories for the kids, families, and guests who will experience camp this year. Whether you’re an expert with tools or simply ready to pitch in where needed, there’s a place for everyone.

Along the way, enjoy delicious meals, good conversation, and the satisfaction of serving together. We’ll take breaks for laughter, connection, and fun—it’s not just about getting the work done, but about growing together as a community.

Work 'N Grow Details:
  • WHEN?  Saturday, May 9 from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
    • 8:30 AM ferry to Quadra / 4:00 pm ferry to CR
  • WHAT?  Join us for a FUN day of working together to help get Homewood ready for our summer season!  Enjoy fellowship, great hot lunch, a couple of coffee breaks, a tour of our most recent projects, and free bus transportation to & from camp from Q Cove.  Help us blitz the property to do grounds cleanup, split and stack firewood, clean and scrub, tidy and sort, deep clean buildings, powerwash, pick up branches and debris, clean up our garden beds, burn branches, and more! 
  • WHO CAN COME?  Anyone who loves Homewood and is willing to work for about 4 hours. We are hoping for 30-50 people (ages 8 and up) to help us attack our “To Do” list.  Recruit a friend or two: LET’S FILL THE BUS!!

SCHEDULE

  • 8:30 AM - Walk (or drive) onto the 8:30 ferry.  Bus transportation from Q Cove will be provided!
  • 9:00 AM - Arrive at Camp and volunteer for jobs 
  • 9:15 AM - Work (90 minutes)
  • 10:45 AM - Coffee Break & Snacks at job sites
  • 11:00 AM - Work (60 Minutes)
  • 12:00 PM - Bus tour of New Staff Duplex, RV Park, Bunkhouse Bathrooms
  • 12:45 PM - Lunch
  • 1:30 PM -  Work (90 minutes)
  • 3:00 PM - Gather for Coffee.  Celebrate what we accomplished!
  • 3:30 PM - Departure - Load the Bus / Cars and head to the Ferry
  • 4:00 PM - Catch the ferry to Campbell River 

*NOTE: This special event is a WORK PARTY for ages 8 and up.  Please be sure your kids understand that they will be asked to participate in 4 hours of work.
