Leader-In-Training (LIT)

  • Ages 15 - 18

Every summer since 1961, a select group of young people have been chosen to be trained and equipped to become servant leaders. Get ready to spend the entire summer growing as you clean toilets, wash dishes, chop, split & stack mountains of firewood, laugh, build lifelong friendships, and develop skills for life. LITs will be assigned to a tent as a Junior Leader as required. The Leader-In-Training program is where leaders are shaped!

LIT Program: If you've completed grade 10, 11, or 12 and you hope to work at camp in the future, the LIT Program may be for you. This special 'camp within a camp' is limited to 12 participants. This program can be a significant asset in applying for your first job and will satisfy school volunteer requirements.

LIT / WIT participants will be selected through an application process. Please apply early to ensure a spot.

PROGRAM INFORMATION


*NEW* Staff Training: Join us June 30 - July 2 as we prepare you to care for Homewood campers. Learn how to do and teach activities (crafts, archery, canoeing, riflery, and more), participate in devotions and firesides, and connect with campers as they arrive. Familiarize yourself with Homewood's property and facilities. Learn about camp standards, policies, and procedures. Wash dishes, worship, pray, and get to know the other summer staff.

Staff Training will allow you to develop meaningful relationships and to gain a deeper understanding of your call to follow Jesus and to love others. Expressing Christ's unconditional love to campers and experiencing that same love in the Homewood community will be a life-changing experience. Be prepared for two months of intense ministry! This is an adventure you don't want to miss. Fill out your application today.

All LIT members are required to attend Staff Training.
Exceptions will be made for school exams, graduation, etc. Please make your request early.
