In 1971, Alf Bayne & Dan Krestinski floated two donated houses from Kelsey Bay to Quadra Island. They skidded the buildings off a borrowed log boom and dragged them up to their current locations where they have served almost half a century.
Last year we renovated the first of the two houses with great results. The plan was to do the same to the second house this fall and winter. Unfortunately, the further we got into the project, the clearer it became that the multiple deficiencies added up to one conclusion: the house needs to be torn down and replaced!
The quality of a guest’s experience at Homewood is depends heavily on the quality of our staff and volunteers. Providing adequate housing is a big part of caring for and retaining our missionaries!
Our goal is to raise $80,000 prior to May 1, 2019 to complete this project. Please give generously to ensure the new house will be ready for Joel & Kortni Loeve to move into prior to Summer 2019. If you can help make this happen through a financial gift, a gift in kind, or by giving your time, please contact camp at 250-285-3483.
