Buses form a critical part of our infrastructure. Because of our remote location and the heavy volume of traffic on BC ferries throughout the summer season, transporting campers each week is vital. In addition to moving over 700 young campers to and from the Q Cove ferry terminal, we also rely on buses to move campers to our Woodsman site at Main Lake Provincial Park and to various locations on the island for out trips. From a safety standpoint, operating quality buses is a number one priority.
Camp currently owns a fleet of 4 retired school buses. One will no longer pass its safety inspection, and the two 72 passenger propane buses are over 25 years old (well past their ‘best before’ date!). Bbreakdowns are becoming commonplace. We require two safe, reliable buses to move campers.
We need to raise $25,000 prior to March, 2019 to complete this project. Please give generously to ensure that we can continue to provide safe, reliable transportation to our campers. Thank You!
