We have amazing news! We have reached our Phase III fundraising target with the help of many incredibly generous donors!
A HUGE ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone who gave to our Kitchen Fund in 2021!
Thanks to you, we reached our fundraising goal of $1,080,000 and we are getting closer to finishing this important project every day.
God accomplished great things through his people in 2021. Together, hundreds of volunteers and donors have been part of building something very special at Camp Homewood. Great food is a central element of the camp experience. Sharing a meal brings people together, it helps build relationships, and it restores and fuels our bodies so we can play hard. We hope our new kitchen will serve generations of campers, and that they will experience the love of God while they are in our care.
Building a 1,500 sq. ft. addition and upgrading the existing kitchen will cost $1,085,656:
The new kitchen will be a game changer for camp! The addition will double the size of our facility. This means we will be able to enlarge our prep space, bakery, cooler and freezer space, and dish pit. We will also be able to move the pantry out of the basement (we’ve been hauling 50 pound sacks of flour up and down the stairs for 42 years!) and add a packing room for our Sailing and Woodsman camps (we’ve been using the hallway for decades!). This will give our food services staff the ability to meet the needs of Camp’s increasing number of guests.
