You can make a donation online by clicking HERE\nProject Details: \nRivendell Furnace Replacement – Rivendell Lodge is heated primarily with wood. Thankfully\, wood is a free resource on Quadra Island! After decades of heavy use\, our old furnaces have burnt out. Replacing the two furnaces and upgrading the chimney is estimated to be $92\,696.84. Each furnace will cost $9\,800 including taxes ($19\,600). Installing new stainless steel flues will cost $73\,000 This project is an urgent need!

You can make a donation online by clicking HERE \nProject Details: \nSave The Homestead – The Homestead is a huge part of the Homewood story\, and it has served the mission for over 70 years. In the early years\, it was home to Alf & Margaret Bayne and to Russ & Helen Swanson. Prior to the construction of Rivendell\, it was Homewood’s main lodge and kitchen. Since 1970\, the Homestead has been home to generations of CITs\, Summer Staff\, and guests. This spring we rebuilt the dormers\, and thanks to a $50\,000 FireSmart grant\, we installed a new steel roof. Donated windows were installed by Joel Loeve. \nIn order to restore the building and make it usable for the next 70 years\, major work is required on the second story. Volunteers have gutted the upstairs (the inexpensive phase of the project!)\, and now it is time to start putting it all back together: wiring\, spray foam insulation\, drywall\, tongue and groove pine on the ceiling\, flooring\, trim\, and paint. This is a time sensitive project– the Homestead must be completed prior to April 1\, 2023 so that we can use it to house volunteers next spring! \nWe need $60\,000 to complete the project. Camp has a strict no debt policy – projects can only move ahead when we have cash in hand. Please give today!

(Facebook would not let us show the actual times for this event\, 7:15 – 8:45 is the correct time.) \nRSVP HERE or call 250-285-3483 or email camp@camphomewood.com. \nProject Details: \nUpper Washhouse and Lodge Basement Bathroom Renovation  \nDid you know that Camp Homewood has 14 public washrooms and almost 70 toilets? Over 70% of these toilets are outdated and use vast quantities of water to flush. According to our calculations\, we would save over 8\,000 litres of water every day during the summer by converting to low-flow toilets. Why is this important? Last summer we ran out of water during our middle Family Camp. Not good! Conservation of water is a more cost effective approach to solving the problem than increasing reservoir capacity or drilling a new well. In addition to upgrading our toilets\, it is time to address the general condition of our facilities: when we ask campers how we can make camp better\, the number one response for the past two years has been ‘improve the washrooms!’ \nLast year\, we renovated one side of the Upper Washhouse. This year we would like to finish the Upper Washhouse and redo the washrooms in the basement of the Lodge. This will require jack hammering through the concrete slab to accommodate two additional showers\, moving walls\, and a complete studs-out renovation of the lower washrooms. Funds are needed to cover the cost of new flooring\, new counters\, basins\, metered taps\, exhaust fans\, lighting\, etc. The total cost to redo these three washrooms will be $25\,000.
